Here’s What You’ll Need

Ingredients:

– 24 oz, purified water

– 1 cup, basmati rice

– 1 tbsp, ghee

– 4 dates, whole

– 1/4 tsp, cinnamon powder

– 1/4 tsp, cardamom powder

– 1/4 tsp, black pepper powder

– 1/8 tsp/pinch, himalayan salt

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Chop up the dates. 
  2. Heat a medium saucepan on low heat. Add the ghee
  3. Once ghee melts, add uncooked rice. Stir continually for 2 – 5 minutes, until it smells sweet and all the rice is coated with ghee.
  4. Add the spices and the dates to incorporate. Stir for one more minute.
  5. Add the water and bring to a boil. Cover pot and lower to a simmer.
  6. Cook until rice is tender, approximately 20 minutes.
  7. Serve with unrefined liquid sweetener of choice and a sprinkle of fresh cinnamon powder.
